Playing the Glockenspiel

In music this term, the children have been making music using percussion instruments. The focus was to play a glockenspiel accurately and with confidence. The children began by getting to know the glockenspiel and learned to play simple rhythms using one note. They were quick to progress to playing longer songs using 2 notes. They then used these skills to improvise their own rhythms along to a tune. The children had to count themselves in and play to a steady pulse, being mindful of how many beats were in each rhythm. The children were excited to perform to the rest of their class and were able to provide positive feedback to each other.
