The Vikings

As part of our topic ‘There’s no place like home!’, year 4 have been learning about the Viking invasion of Britain. They have identified where the Vikings came from, the parts of Britain that they invaded and explained the reasons why they came. They then used their mathematical skills to order significant dates and events from the first Viking raid in 787AD, to William the Conqueror finally driving them out of England in 1066AD. The children particularly enjoyed learning about the fearless and merciless Viking warriors known as Berserkers, then getting the chance to draw their own warrior dressed for battle and equipped with his favourite weapons.
