STOP Press!

Year 6 have been enjoying the picture book ‘Varmints’. Over the past week, they have really focused on the characters ‘the Others’ and ‘the few who care’.  They role played what the characters might say and wrote questions which they may want to ask the characters. The children then carried out a press conference, where members of the press got to ask questions for the characters to answer in role. These speaking and listening activities have been excellent preparation for writing from the perspective of a character.
