An egg-cellent investigation!

We have an egg-cellent experiment on the go in Year 4! Year 4 have been exploring what sugar filled drinks do to our teeth. The children have been discussing tooth decay, why brushing our teeth is super important and why we should visit the dentist regularly.

To help us understand what drinks such as Coke can do to our teeth, Year 4 have set up an experiment in the classroom using eggs to represent tooth enamel.

Before we started, we made predictions about which drinks would cause the most damage to the eggs. We thought that full-sugar Coke would cause the greatest amount of tooth decay and damage. However, after three days, we are not so sure! We may have discovered some sneaky sugars hiding in fresh orange juice.

We can’t wait to share what we’ve learned with everyone at home and reveal the results of our experiment!
