This week Rosie, a textile artist from The Equal Arts Council, came to Angel Court to work with the children and residents.
Over the last half term we have been taking part in a Music and Movement project as part of our Sports England fund. The plan this week was to design some bags for the equipment we’ve been using, so that it can be kept by the residents and stored in the community rooms. Bags for the juggling balls, the fans and feathers and the foot massagers, then some straps to hold the hoops together. They used tea towels as a base, handy because they are already hemmed. The children helped the residents to bring their ideas to life on paper first, then these images were transferred onto the material. The checks of the tea towels were really helpful to form a grid reference. Over half term the residents will sew the bags together ready for when the new equipment arrives.
