This week, we have been learning about the seaside in our reception class. We began the week by reading Lucy and Tom at the Seaside by Shirley Hughes, which captivated the children’s imagination and set the tone for our seaside adventures. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their personal experiences of visits to the seaside. In addition to our discussions, we engaged in a variety of seaside-themed activities. During our art session, the children created their own seaside scenes. They began by colour washing their paper in beautiful shades of blue and yellow to represent the sea and sand. Following this, they added details using oil pastels, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. Take a look at our wonderful work!
