School Fayre

Yesterday, the Harlow Green community came together to enjoy our annual school summer fayre.  Once again, the weather was glorious; the sun shone and the rain stayed away.  Parents and children enjoyed having a go at traditional games such as Name the Teddy, tombola, guess the number of sweets in the jar, hook and duck, and the coconut shy.  There were lots of lovely foods to try, including burgers, waffles, candy floss, cakes and biscuits, potato chipsticks, and pizzas from our very own pizza oven. The football speed gun challenge and archery provided fun for those with a competitive edge. ‘Sponge the teacher’ was extremely popular with Mr Malik, Mr Allen and Mr McMann getting VERY wet, at different points during the afternoon. The ‘water’ theme continued with a bubbleologist helping the children to create huge bubbles on the field and a Tyne and Wear fire and rescue engine which gushed cold water from the hose.  IN amongst it all, we had entertainment provided by our very own choir and dance group, along with music from a professional DJ.  Phew … what a fantastically busy afternoon!

The whole event was fantastic. The effort from everyone really showed. Thank you for arranging an event that is genuinely looked forward to all year by the children (and parents!).
