Water, rainbows and bubbles

This week the theme in Nursery has been water, bubbles and rainbows! The children started this week by listening to a story called ‘Sonny’s Wonderful Wellies’ and ‘The fish who could wish’. They also learnt two new nursery rhymes called ‘It’s raining its pouring’ & ‘I can sing a rainbow’. The children then talked about which colour is their favourite colour, what a prediction is and which colours are primary and secondary colours. After that, the children talked about which two colours they think would make orange, green and purple and then mixed two primary colours together at a time to see if their predictions were correct. The children have also enjoyed playing in the snow, throwing snow balls, blowing and catching bubbles as well as creating bubble paintings with Miss Bradshaw. On Thursday, the children talked about what float and sink means and predicted which items will float and which items will sink in the water tray and why. This week the children have also enjoyed collaging rainbows using a range of materials and practised their cutting skills to make other rainbow crafts. In PE this week the children played a range of parachute games.
