Our Last Week In Reception

Both the children and staff have had a fun filled week in Reception to end what has been a very busy Summer term! We have been thinking about all the memories we have made together, thought about the children who have left and joined us throughout the year and talked about how excited they are for their new beginning in September when they move to Year One. We had a pirate themed week this week where we have read lots of stories, made treasure maps, created our own pirate hats and telescopes, wrote messages in a bottle to our friends and completed lots of transition activities. The children loved going for a tour of their new Year One classroom and meeting the adults who will be working with them too. We have also done lots of physical activities this week to keep ourselves healthy like playing on the bikes and scooters, chasing bubbles around the yard, climbing on the small adventure, and playing parachute games on the field. We have celebrated the end of Reception with a whole class picnic, party games and dancing, a treasure chest piñata, a quiz and a film treat of ‘Sing’ to end our Friday afternoon.

We would like to wish all of the children well in their new journey in Year One and thank them all for such an amazing year! Please enjoy some photos from our final week together.
