Managing Positive Covid Cases in the Last Week of Term

As you will be aware, the government is moving the country to Stage 4 of their road map, in respect of reducing restrictions.  However, this comes a week before the majority for schools close for the summer which is causing great confusion about how schools will manage cases in the last week of term.

The link below provides a letter from Alice Wiseman (Gateshead’s Director of Public Health) explaining that, in line with guidance, she is asking schools to continue to work with our local Public Health Team and continue the measures we have in schools currently.  It is essential that parents/carers read the letter to understand the position of Gateshead Council and what schools are being asked to do.

What does this means for Harlow Green?

For the last five days of term, we will continue to manage our school in the same way we have been doing throughout the year, which will include identifying close contacts of confirmed cases and closing bubbles, if required.

Our main priority is to keep members of our community as safe as possible as we move towards the summer holidays which means trying to reduce further infection of children and adults.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
