Year 6 Home Learning- Week 15

We have now reached the end of our 15th week of home learning and it still seems strange that we have not seen some of you since March. We continue to miss having you all in school, but, as ever, we are so proud of your attitudes and how hard you have been working at home.

This week we have had some fantastic persuasive letters about mobile devices in school. It was great to see so many of you adding humour to your letters: we have heard some strange and entertaining arguments for allowing mobile phones and iPads to be brought in. Well done to you all for your fantastic fraction work in Maths and thank you to all of you who entertained us with your Roman Empire songs.

The rain hasn’t stopped you all from enjoying your usual outdoor activities. Bike riding, running the daily mile and spending time in the garden have been as popular as ever this week. We have particularly enjoyed your garden photos and it’s great to see that the seeds you planted at the beginning of lockdown have now grown into flowers. Many of you have become avid readers during your time at home and we can’t help but smile when we see you enjoying so many different books. We also want to say a big ‘thank you’ to those of you who have sent us your memories of Harlow Green – these have been a delight to read. Although this is nearly the end of your Harlow Green experience, we know your memories here will last a lifetime.

The summer holidays are coming closer each week, but we still have plenty of time to make the most of home learning. The ‘Communities’ topic has lots of creative activities for you to do; the topic work we have seen so far has been fantastic and we can’t wait to see more. As ever, we will be posting your Maths and English tasks on Monday and we look forward to seeing your work. Keep sending your photographs and work to [email protected]  – it always brightens our day when we see what you have all been up to. We hope you continue to work hard, have fun and stay safe.
