Year 5 Home Learning- Week 14

We are at the end of another week of home learning and you continue to impress us. The year 5 team have enjoyed seeing all your fantastic work and we always smile when we see the variety of activities that you have all been taking part in this week.

Fairytales have been our focus this week and we have immensely enjoyed reading your new approaches to these traditional tales. Many of you have been creative and cunning in writing your new endings to these stories. We have had modern-day versions of classic tales and we have had some very clever cliff-hanger endings. In maths, we have been looking at shape properties and angles and it is great to see you all tackling these with determination. Those of us who have been in school this week have enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors: Mrs Jennings’ class even managed to get outside and create their own version of a Joe Wicks workout.

Your teachers have enjoyed seeing all of your home learning activities this week and we continue to be impressed by your attitudes. The sunny weather has meant that lots of you have been spending time outside with trips to the park and water fights. We have even had a birthday this week and it was great to hear all about your birthday BBQ and paddling pool fun; we hope that you enjoyed celebrating turning 10! One year 5 pupil has been raising tadpoles during lockdown and now has some frogs in his pond.

It has been a pleasure to spend more time with those of you who have now returned to school, however we continue to miss those of you working from home. Seeing your photographs and hearing about your time at home never fails to make us smile, so please don’t hesitate to email us all of the fun activities that you have taken part in during the week. As ever, we will be posting next week’s maths and English work on Monday and we have no doubt that you will all produce some fantastic work. We still have our ‘Communities’ topic for you to work through and the work that we have seen so far has been great.

Well done to you all for another amazing week. We are proud of your attitudes and we have no doubt that next week will be just as impressive and exciting.
