Year 1 Home Learning – Week 12

Wow! We have come to the end of week 12. As always, we have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your photos and reading your fantastic work. Well done if you completed this weeks writing activity. Lots of you have enjoyed the story The Old Toy Room and have wrote some fantastic descriptions of your favourite toys, including Barbies and a Nintendo Switch. On Monday, there will be another story for you to enjoy and a writing activity to complete.

We are so pleased that the cold and drizzly weather has not stopped you having fun. Lots of the children have enjoyed spending time outdoors, visiting local animals, climbing hills, walking their dogs, completing scavenger hunts and planting seeds in the garden. If that wasn’t enough, you have also been playing board games, created natural art, made a pirate ship out of Lego and have even visited McDonalds for a happy meal. Delicious!

Your teachers have been very busy in school this week. They have been teaching some of your friends and preparing lots of exciting activities for you to enjoy at home and in school. Miss Norman is still yet to complete her jigsaw but is making good progress. Did you guess which Disney character it is? Mrs Hopkins hasn’t let the rain stop her from completing her Couch to 5k challenge. She enjoyed a (slightly drizzly) run on Wednesday with her daughter. Mrs Lewis has been doing her mum’s food shopping and, whilst there, decided to buy all of the staff a bar of chocolate. Thank you Mrs Lewis! Mrs Gillender has been working in Year One this week too and will continue to do so until the end of term. She has been busy in the kitchen baking lots of sweet and savoury treats, including scones and pasties. Yummy!

We are all looking forward to welcoming some of the boys and girls back to school on Monday, and reading all of the wonderful emails from the children staying at home.

Stay safe and keep smiling!
