Year 5 Home Learning – Week 7

Another week of home learning is complete and a bank holiday in the sun (hopefully) to enjoy today  too. We hope you all have a fun day celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day with your families.

Once again, we are really pleased to see the children working hard on Reading Plus, Mathletics and TT Rockstars. Also, well done to those children who completed this week’s writing task; it was especially pleasing to see many of the children used relative clauses. Look out for next week’s task, which will be posted on the website on Monday morning.

Thank you for the pictures you have sent us this week. The year 5 staff really do enjoy seeing what you’ve been up to. It has been lovely to see children enjoying the outdoors. Families continue to be creative with learning and one of the year 5 children has undertaken a mini project on George ‘Georgie’ Ridley and even managed to find his gravestone and took a rubbing of it. As always, art and craft activities and baking have featured. Included in the pictures this week is Mrs Jennings’s daughter’s birthday cake; they were both pleased with it although the dog birthday cake is even better! Please continue sending pictures to [email protected]

The year 5 staff are still keeping themselves busy. Keeping with the birthday theme, Miss Alexander gave a 1st birthday wave to her nephew through his living room window. As well as birthday celebrations, Mrs Jennings and her children have been walking. For a change from their usual daily walk, they have been exploring the fields at the back of their house, where they have found a hill to climb. Mrs Dale has moved on from Lego to a jigsaw this week and is attempting to complete a 1000 piece Harry Potter jigsaw with her family.

We miss you all.

Stay safe, keep smiling and enjoy the bank holiday weekend.
