Year 2: Home Learning, Week 2

Wow, another week of home learning has flown past and you have all been inundating us with wonderful pictures of your creative home learning activities. We’ve been missing you all at school but we love getting to see what you’ve been up to, and you’ve been giving us lots of ideas that we can try ourselves! This week we have seen baking, lego building, junk modelling, treasure hunting, painting, den building, exercising, drawing, hair dressing and so many more exciting activities! We have also loved seeing the exciting different ways Year 2 have been practising their times tables!

We’ve been watching your progress on Mathletics and Lexia too. This week, we have 5 new certificates on Lexia and 10 new certificates on Mathletics. Well done to all of those who are completing all the assigned activities on Mathletics and to those who are trying their hardest on Lexia to move through the different levels.

This week has also seen some birthdays in Year 2! We hope you’ve had a fantastic time celebrating in a slightly different way (I’m sure it’ll be one they’ll remember!) and we hope you can show your families how are grown up you are now you are 7!

Your teachers have all been busy too. We have been spending some time in school with those children whose parents are key workers (see the post about all the activities we’ve been doing in school!), but we have also been working from home and finding ways to keep ourselves busy. Mrs Chapman and Mrs Hamilton have also been finding ways to educate (and entertain!) their children at home. Mrs Hamilton and Miss Bull have been practising their DIY skills, doing some painting around their houses and even building a decking on the weekend! Mrs Chapman has been competing against her family on their mini pool table, she’s hoping to be a professional soon! We have all been going for our daily walk and finding different ways to exercise in the house. We have been enjoying baking lots (like many of you at home) and are starting to consider whether our skills are good enough to get us onto the Great British Bake Off!

Tomorrow marks the start of what would have been our Easter holidays! We hope you continue to enjoy spending time with your families and learning new skills. We would still like to see how you are spending your time and how you have continued your learning at home, so please keep emailing us your amazing photographs ([email protected]). We will make sure to update you with another website post next week!

We’re looking forward to seeing your incredible smiles soon.

Stay safe!
