Year 1 – Home Learning, Week 2

Thank you for supporting your children at home during these last two weeks and e-mailing all of your lovely work to the Year One teachers.  It has been great to see the amazing activities they have been doing.  The children have been writing instructions and stories,  practising their phonics, gardening, making detailed models with Lego and junk, supporting the community with inspiring pictures and baking some delicious food.  In Maths, you have taken the opportunity to log on to Mathletics (even receiving a certificate!) and  learning to tell the time.   There have been some super projects – going on a dinosaur hunt and decorating a tee-pee with bright, uplifting colours.  Phew!  You have all been so busy!  It looks like your children are really keeping up with their learning whilst also having fun and smiling.

Although the staff of Year 1 have been working very hard to make sure you all have something to do, both at home and at school, we have also made sure we’re relaxing with those we love at home. Mrs Hopkins has been busy perfecting her baking, gardening in the sunshine and playing  a lot of badminton with her son.  Miss Norman has taken the opportunity to tackle some home DIY and paint her kitchen.  Whilst Mrs Lewis has been busy ensuring that all of her loved ones are safe and well looked after.

We miss you all and receiving your updates always puts a smile on our face.  Please stay in touch.  Hope you all have a lovely Easter and a rest from all of your hard work.
