Marvellous Maths in Year Two

This week, Year Two have been learning how to use the column method to add two two-digit numbers. The children learned that they should always add the ones digits first (e.g. 57 + 12) and then the tens.

Later in the week, things became a little trickier as the children had to learn how to exchange. This was very challenging at first, but the children rose to the challenge and are now exchanging experts.

Some of the boys and girls even found answers greater than 100 and had to learn all about a new column – the hundreds column. Wow!
