Geometric Art

This week, Year 5 have been looking at Islamic style art, linking to our work on Islam and the ancient city of Baghdad earlier in the term. The children learned about the main types of Islamic style art, before being given different examples of geometric art and deciding what they liked about them, and what they weren’t so keen on!

After this, they were asked to colour in geometric patterns, using only a few colours for each one. This was a bit tricky, as Islamic style geometric art is often symmetrical, so the children had to be very careful to make sure they followed the style!

They are looking forward to attempting to draw their own next week!
