This half term, the children in Year 2 have enjoyed their gymnastics lessons in PE, building an awareness of how their bodies move. They have been learning how to show control by stretching moving and being still. They used strength to demonstrate a range of balances such as an arch and a dish. They practiced moving from one foot to another, stopping on a signal to make a shape. They have practiced a range of rolls on mats, such as a log roll and teddy bear roll. They also enjoyed learning different types of jumps, such as star jumps and tuck jumps. Some children combined these movements to create their own sequences. Well done!
