We are Family!

This week in Nursery, we have been reading the story ‘Stick Man’. The children loved joining in with the repeated refrain throughout and were very happy that Stick Man returned to his family, with the help of Santa, at the end of the story.

As part of our topic, Little Bear and Me, we have explored the concept of families this week. We enjoyed sharing photos of our families during small group time and talking about how everyone’s families are different. We looked at our immediate family members like parents and siblings and pets, as well as our extended family members, such as; grandparents, aunties and uncles, and cousins.

In the painting area, we used our family photos to paint or family members. We thought about what makes each person different due to their hair, eye and skin colour, we tried our best to paint our families accurately and have displayed them in our classroom art gallery.
