Viking visit

This week, year 4 enjoyed an exciting and interactive visit from a Viking! The children heard stories about real Vikings and learnt about how they lived, fought, played, raided and died. They enjoyed taking part in a mock battle, they dressed up in armour, held a Viking axe and sword, and watched a demonstration of the power of different weapons. They played games that taught them facts about sailing and food in Viking times, and learned how to play a Viking board game. They also joined in a re-enactment of a funeral ceremony. It was a brilliant experience for the children and made their learning about Vikings very memorable.
