Using clay the Ancient Greek way!

In Art, we have enjoyed making clay pots using the traditional coiling method that was similar to some of the Ancient Greek pots and jars that we have looked at.

The children created the base and then attached coils to build up the sides, blending together the joins on the inside with slip to ensure they stayed stuck together!

Once they had dried, we painted them in the colours and patterns similar to what is seen on original Greek artefact pots that have been unearthed.
