In PE, Year Two have been learning a dance to Thriller, by Michael Jackson.
Before learning the routine, the children learned that music is counted in beats of eight. They listened to the song and practised clapping eight beats at a time.
Throughout the dance, the boys and girls perform as if they are zombies. Over the last few weeks, they have perfected how to move and control their bodies in time to the music, while still staying in character.
Part of the dance involves performing a canon – performing actions one person after another. The children used the beats of the music to perform the sequence effectively and give a performance to be proud of.
