Year 3 have been busy getting festive with their Design and Technology project by making their own Christmas stockings! The children showed great perseverance as they learned how to use a running stitch to carefully join two pieces of felt together. It wasn’t always easy, but they kept trying and were very proud of their progress.
Once their stockings were assembled, the children decorated the front with wonderful Christmas images such as Santa, Christmas trees, snowmen and penguins. They used a range of materials including felt, sequins, coloured pens, pompoms and cotton wool to bring their designs to life.
The brief was to create a stocking strong enough to hold a small gift, and Year 3 rose to the challenge brilliantly. The finished stockings look fantastic and are a real celebration of creativity, effort and festive fun!
