Hieroglyphs, Hot Chocolate, and Hidden Clues!

Year 3 had a magical surprise this week when they opened their new English text, The Ancient Egypt Sleepover by Stephen Davies. Inside each book was a golden ticket — a mysterious invitation to the British Museum!

The next day, the classroom transformed into an Egyptian adventure zone! The boys and girls became young archaeologists, deciphering secret hieroglyph clues and making predictions about what might happen in the story.

To bring Ancient Egypt to life, many of the children even tasted some traditional snacks — sticky dates and sweet figs — and sipped delicious hot chocolate, which they discovered might be a clue to the story ahead.

Finally, everyone got creative and made their very own Ankh amulets out of clay which are symbols of life and luck in Ancient Egypt.

The children can’t wait to uncover the next mystery in The Ancient Egypt Sleepover!
