Reading Buddies

Reading is an essential element in Harlow Green’s curriculum and every half-term, the classes pair up as reading buddies.

Older children are paired with younger children across the whole school and it is an opportunity for the older children to be the expert. Sometimes they read to the younger children and sometimes they hear them read and ask questions. The aim is to develop confidence reading aloud and also to foster the relationships that are an essential part of the school community.
