Super Scissors!

This week Nursery have been working on their fine motor skills and learning how to correctly use scissors.

We have been working on scissor safety and have learnt that we must never leave scissors laid around the classroom, we cannot run when scissors are in our hand and we have to hold the blades in our hand when travelling around the room to stop our friends getting hurt. We learnt a rhyme which helps us to remember where to place our fingers, ‘fingers at the bottom, thumb on top, open up the mouth and say chop chop chop’! We followed three different patterns of straight lines, wavy lines and spikey lines using good control and patience.

We also used our scissors during our baking activity this week to cut into our bread rolls to create hedgehog spines.
