Chariot Racing!

In year 6, the children have been learning about the Romans and the use of chariots as a form of entertainment and in warfare.

There was great excitement when wood was finally delivered to school and the children had the opportunity to use the hacksaws and glue guns to produce a model of a chariot. They had to carefully think about the size and measure the wood accurately before constructing their finished design. It was excellent to see the safe and responsible way the children handled the tools and how they shared and allowed all of the group to co-operate. Decorating and adding the finishing touches to the chariots including horses and gladiators. We were extremely pleased with the end results.
