Perfect Place Value!

This week, the children in Year 1 have been learning how to read and partition numbers up to 100.

At the beginning of the week, the children showed a lot of resilience when counting forwards and backwards within 100, filling in missing numbers on number tracks. The children then learned how to count in tens to 100 and demonstrated an understanding that it is easier to count bigger numbers in groups of ten rather than individually count items in a group. By the end of the week, the children used base ten with increased confidence to partition numbers within 100.  We are all becoming amazing at recognising numbers!
