Go West!

This term in PE and in Maths we have been looking at direction and turns.

In our PE sessions, we have been using the compasses to build on some basic orienteering we took part in at Wharton Park before Easter.  As well as the North, East, South and West instructions, we have also been looking at the NE / NW / SE / SW directions too.

On the field, we orientated ourselves with the north, and then travelled in various other directions, ensuring our compass kept aligned with north throughout.  To finish, all the children got sets of instructions to travel around the field, changing directions at various points and watching their start and finish points.
