Thank you to all the parents, carers, grandparents and family members who came to our Year 4 Art Exhibition and Sharing Assembly this week.
After a brief introduction about the curriculum, it was great that the children could tell you about the art they had done, the skills used and their work with The Sunderland Glass Centre. The chance to run a simple drinks and biscuit stall too gave them the opportunity to experience hosting, taking money and giving change. The children are always so excited about events that bring family members in to school and it was great to see so many people.
These assemblies allow the children to showcase their work and develop important life skills and careers knowledge which are all included within our PSHE topic about jobs and careers in the food industry. They have also developed much greater confidence in talking and presenting to bigger groups of people!
Thank you to everyone who purchased their art work too – this has been a great way to support the project, allowing us to cover some of the costs that went into making and framing each one.
