Exploring Ancient Baghdad in Year 5!

This term, Year 5 have been diving into the fascinating history of Ancient Baghdad, and what a journey it has been! We’ve explored the incredible Golden Age of Islam and discovered why Baghdad was once considered one of the most important cities in the world.

Our learning focused on the features of the city, including the House of Wisdom, the circular city design, and the importance of trade and learning. We used a word bank and video to guide our research and thinking, helping us gather key facts and details.

To bring our learning to life, we created our very own double-page spreads, showcasing everything we’ve discovered. Each spread includes beautifully presented facts, labelled diagrams, timelines, and even some artistic impressions of life in Baghdad over 1,000 years ago.

We are incredibly proud of our work and the enthusiasm the class has shown throughout this topic. Their curiosity and creativity have really shone through!
