The snow and ice certainly played its part in slowing down our planned work for the yard but could not stop it! With hard work, determination and reliance, Bill finally completed his work creating our newest play area.
With the small apparatus removed, a large soft surface area has been developed which will allow children to be involved in low-level construction and obstacles. Children from Reception through to Year 6 have already enjoyed exploring the new space and have worked together to create some interesting courses.
Additionally, the excitement has continued with Wheelie Wednesday being a huge success. Children have had great fun on their scooters and rollerblades/roller skates whizzing around the MUGA.
A lot of adults will remember many hours spent playing ‘kerby’ as children. The game is rarely played now, probably because of the number of cars around. However, with a little thought about how sleepers can be used, the game has been introduced in school and has been going down a storm!
We will continue to update everyone as the playtimes develop as we know how important this aspect is for every child, in so many ways.
