Head Teacher’s End of term Message 2025

As we reach the end of this term, it is worth reflecting on what a busy and eventful few months it has been. Alongside the usual rhythm of school life, we’ve faced the challenges of a Chicken Pox outbreak, seasonal flu, winter viruses, and even a couple of storms. Yet, none of these obstacles have prevented Harlow Green from continuing to provide the rich opportunities our children deserve to learn, grow, and thrive.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff, we have not only delivered a strong curriculum but also enriched it with wider experiences. This term has been filled with visits, guest speakers, extracurricular clubs, and sporting events – all designed to engage children beyond the classroom walls. At Harlow Green, we are committed to building positive experiences that nurture the whole child, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a genuine passion for learning.

The past few weeks have once again highlighted the strength of our school community. Watching the many Christmas performances, and seeing hundreds of family members gather with pride and joy to celebrate their children and grandchildren, has been truly special. For me, these moments capture the very spirit of Christmas: the harmony of young voices and the sparkle in the eyes of loved ones, all united in shared celebration. We are proud to offer these opportunities across every year group, where weeks of preparation culminate in a brief but magical window of joy for all.

Of course, none of what we achieve would be possible without the partnership between home and school. This term, your support has been as strong as ever, whether through attending open evenings, joining parental workshops, working with us on specific issues, or standing together when others misunderstand what it means to be part of Harlow Green. As Head Teacher, I never take this collaboration for granted, and I am humbled by your commitment to our shared values.

As we now break for the Christmas holidays, I know celebrations will look different for each family, shaped by unique traditions and contexts. My hope is that every household finds time to enjoy one another’s company whether that be through exchanging gifts, sharing delicious food, watching festive TV, playing games, or simply relaxing together.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 6th January, refreshed and ready for the exciting opportunities that the spring term will bring.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2026,

Mr Malik
