Happy Harlow-ween!

We have had lots of spooky goings on this week in Nursery!

We have been learning all about the festival of Halloween this week and have enjoyed finding out all about how we celebrate this festival on the 31st October every year.  We looked at different ways we can celebrate the festival, such as dressing up, Trick o Treating, decorating our homes and carving pumpkins. As part of our learning we all spent time designing a face to carve into our pumpkin. We thought about what shaped eyes we could have, the type of smile and how many teeth. We then all had a go at scooping out the inside of the pumpkin using some special carving tools. We used our fingers and tweezers to pick out all of the pumpkin seeds and re-used these in the home corner and water area. We had lots of fun and were all impressed with our finished pumpkins.

On Friday, the children enjoyed coming to Nursery dressed up for their Halloween party! We had so much fun playing spooky games and dancing to Halloween music, as well as having some yummy party food.
