Harvest Festival
This year, as part of our Harvest celebrations, we have learnt about the meaning behind harvest through our class assembly times. We found out the importance of gathering crops from the fields. This year we raised donations to send to The People’s Kitchen, where we collected non-perishable foods, toiletries, books, DVDs and clothing for those who are less fortunate.
The People’s Kitchen
The People’s Kitchen support homeless and vulnerable people in the North East. They are contributing towards fighting hunger and loneliness for locals in need. They support ‘friends’ who may be at risk of homelessness, unemployment, those who are lonely or living in poverty. For those who experience these life challenges, The People’s Kitchen are the light in the dark.
Harlow Green’s Impact
Due to the kind contributions from the Harlow Green school community, we have been able to collect a variety of food which will be shared with those in need over the cold autumn and winter months. Your donations were collected by volunteers from The People’s Kitchen, who were blown away with the vast amount we have collected.
A huge thank you to all who have donated; every tin and box, every item of clothing or toiletry product will make a difference in the lives of people who are part of our wider community.
