Chick chick chick chick chicken…. Lay a little egg for me!

This week Nursery have been learning all about working on a farm.

We have been looking at the different jobs that a farmer has to complete across their day to keep their farms running. We decided to replicate some of the jobs by milking cows, sheering sheep and collecting eggs. We used the eggs from our Forest School hens to investigate which were good eggs and which were not. We tested them using the floating method in a jug of water. If the eggs float or stand up on one end then they are bad, if they lay flat on the bottom they are good to eat!

We then used the good eggs to cook scrambled egg as part of our snack. It was delicious!
