Viking Life
This term, Year Four are studying the Vikings in History lessons. The children looked at where the Vikings came from and where they settled in Britain. They enjoyed learning about Viking armour and how they attacked. It was particularly interesting to learn about the raids at Lindisfarne as some of the children had visited Holy Island and were enthusiastic to find out about history of the North East. Yesterday, the children learned about Viking life and the roles of the men, women and children. The Viking children didn't go to school but learned about history through stories and songs. To finish off the unit, the children sang a Viking saga song about the Norse god Odin. A very interesting topic!
