Friday 23 October 2026 A Sparkling Celebration - All about Diwali The children in Year 1 have had a fantastic time learning all about Diwali, the Festival of Light! The children explored the beautiful traditions of how Hindu families prepare for and celebrate this special time of year.

Friday 23 October 2026 Buddy Reading Our school's buddy reading sessions are a wonderful opportunity to bring children together through a shared love of books. Children from our older classes visit the younger classes to read with them, sharing stories, exploring new vocabulary and helping to develop their reading skills. These sessions provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment where younger children can build their confidence, develop their fluency and discover the joy of reading with a supportive older role model.

Friday 23 October 2026 Year 6 - Electricity This half term, Year 6 have been exploring electricity and developing their understanding of how circuits work.

Friday 23 October 2026 Year 6 Poetry Week During Poetry Week, Year 6 explored the work of poet John Agard, enjoying the opportunity to study his use of language, rhythm and expression. The children brought poetry to life by performing their chosen poems for one another, developing their confidence and expressive reading skills. They then investigated the structure of Ottava Rima poetry, learning about its eight-line stanzas, ten-syllable lines and distinctive rhyming pattern. Using this structure, the children crafted their own thoughtful poems inspired by poppies and remembrance, reflecting on the importance of remembering those who have served and sacrificed.

Friday 23 October 2026 Halloween On Tuesday, the boys and girls enjoyed a wonderful Halloween lunch prepared by our cooks. The children enjoyed eating in the hall which was decorated with pumpkins, ghosts, bats and a range of other spooky images. After school on Thursday, children in Years 1, 2, 3 enjoyed their Halloween disco which was closely followed a disco for our older pupils in Year 4, 5 and 6. Everyone enjoyed scary dancing and games. The costumes were amazing too.

Friday 23 October 2026 Autumn Adventures Although the learning focus in this terms Forest School sessions is tree identification there is always time to explore, create and play. It has been a time of abundance on our site with plenty of Autumn fruit to enjoy including on of our new pear trees that has born fruit already.

Wednesday 21 October 2026 Class 2A Art Club The children in class 2A have enjoyed coming to Art Club on a Tuesday after school. Firstly, they simply took their pencil for a walk to create all different spaces that were a range of shapes and sizes. The boys and girls enjoyed colouring them using felt pens, oil pastels and crayons. The final pieces of work looked fantastic! They enjoyed a paint by number activity to create Elmer's patchwork body. Finally, the children enjoyed Halloween themed activities, creating skeletons using art straws and drawing spooky characters. Well done!

Friday 16 October 2026 Cinderella Pantomime The children in Key Stage One and Two watched a performance of Cinderellla today. They enjoyed singing, acting and dancing as well as wonderful costumes and funny jokes.

Friday 16 October 2026 All About Autumn This week, we have been exploring the season of Autumn. We began the week by reading Oliver's Vegetables, and the children thoroughly enjoyed discovering the different vegetables Oliver found in his garden. Back in the classroom, the children used potatoes and apples to create colourful prints and produced some fantastic Autumn inspired paintings. Throughout the week, they also had the opportunity to peel a variety of root vegetables, including carrots, potatoes and turnips. We then air-fried the vegetables for the children to taste as a healthy snack. In the Nursery Garden, the children enjoyed digging the soil and planting bulbs, which we hope will bloom beautifully in the spring. Later in the week, we went on an Autumn walk around the school field, where the children explored the changing season and collected a range of natural treasures, including crunchy leaves and fallen twigs. Friday 16 October 2026 Year 1’s Great British Geography Adventure! Year 1 have been busy exploring the United Kingdom in Geography! We learnt about the four countries that make up the UK and discovered the seas that surround us. We also created our own Union Jack flags and explored capital cities, with a special focus on London.
