Building Strong Foundations for Writing
Our Reception children have been having lots of fun while developing the important skills they need to become confident and fluent writers. We have been learning how to sit comfortably at a table, hold our paper steady and use a good pincer grip to hold our pencils correctly.
Through a range of engaging activities, we have been strengthening the muscles in our hands and fingers and practising the patterns and movements that form the building blocks of letter writing. These early skills are so important in helping children gain confidence and control as they begin their writing journey.
We are incredibly proud of the perseverance, focus and enthusiasm the children have shown. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow each day!
Article 28: We have the right to an education that helps us develop our talents, abilities and confidence so that we can achieve our full potential.
