Year 6 Enterprise - money, money, money!
At Harlow Green Primary, Year 6 are learning about enterprise through a hands-on enterprise task that helps them understand how money is made, managed and used responsibly. They practise planning, teamwork and making choices—skills that support learning in many subjects and prepare them for life beyond primary school.
One exciting highlight is our school fair. Year 6 children work together to design their stall and decide what they will offer, how they will present it and how they will keep track of costs and profits. From budgeting for ingredients or materials to thinking about pricing, they learn that good planning can make a real difference.
During the school fair, children take part in selling and speaking confidently to visitors. They practise counting money, giving change carefully and reflecting on what went well. The experience helps them understand the value of enterprise, encourages responsibility and shows how ideas can turn into something real—right here at Harlow Green Primary.
