Islamic Celebrations
In RE, Year Two have been learning all about Islam and the festivals Muslims celebrate.
They were visited by three of our Key Stage Two children who follow the religion of Islam. They asked the children questions about Ramadan and Eid, and how they celebrate these festivals with their family. The boys and girls learned a lot, including what their favourite part of Eid is and how they break their fast. They were even shown how Muslims pray.
The children were also visited by Magic Lantern, who delivered an Art workshop with a focus on Islam. The children were shown a range of artwork and recognised three key elements in each piece - nature, Arabic writing and shapes. The boys and girls pretended to be investigators but it was sometimes tricky to spot the different elements.
Article 14: We all have the right to follow our own religion.
