Investigating Materials
Over the last few days the children in Year 2 have enjoyed investigating materials in their Science lessons.
They have learnt about those that are man made and those that are human made. They named common materials such as wood, paper, card and metal and used scientific vocabulary to describe their properties, whilst testing whether they could bend, twist or be squashed. They also investigated different types of metals and fabrics including wool, denim, cotton and nylon and thought about their similarities and differences. In addition, the children explored rocks and bricks and drew a house, adding labels to show which materials would make it strong.
