Beautiful Bunting!

In DT, Year Two have designed and made a piece of bunting using a running stitch.

To begin, the children learned that bunting is a type of decoration made up of small, colourful flags. It has been used to celebrate many events, past and present, including VE Day and our school Summer Fayre.

Next, they created a design that was all about them. The boys and girls drew images of their hobbies and interests to create a final design.

Once their design was complete, the children were ready to sew. Using a running stitch, they joined two pieces of fabric together so their bunting could be hung up on display. Finally, they used fabric pens to add their design.
