Year 3 Geography

This week in geography, the boys and girls looked at the counties within the UK. The children discussed where different counties were and how they are grouped. They then focused on identifying the county our school is in  – Tyne and Wear – which they labelled on their maps. Next, they explored the main cities of the UK. Using atlases, the children worked carefully to locate key cities, including each capital city and Newcastle upon Tyne. The boys and girls finished the week by looking at the main rivers and seas of the UK. Using the atlases again, they identified and labelled rivers, including the River Tyne looking at how it separates Newcastle and Gateshead.
