Working 9 to 5….

This term, Year 3 have been learning about word processing and creating various documents on the PCs.

There are a huge range of skills here including holding and using the mouse, typing on the keyboards, cutting, pasting and resizing, and navigating round the menu options and functions on the computers.  After writing newspaper reports in English, the children have had the chance to type some of it up, along with adding headings and importing images.

It has been great to see the children so focussed and enthusiastic and incredibly excited when their work comes off the printer all complete!  Despite the fact a lot of technology is now accessed through tablets and smaller digital screens, the skills learned through using the PCs and word processing are invaluable when moving through school and on to higher education or into the world of work!
