This week, Year 6 were able to use their art and design skills as they got ‘crafty’ with an R.E. project.
Ever since the children were told to collect resources to bring in last week, there has been a sense of excitement at being able to do some old-fashioned ‘junk modelling.’ However, there was a definite purpose to the children’s work as they were tasked with producing a Sukkah to represent those that Jewish people would build during the celebration of Sukkot. This is a time when Moses being in e wilderness is remembered by spending time in huts or booths.
The children thoroughly enjoyed creating their Sukkahs and ensuring that they had greenery as the roof and that the stars could be seen as there should be holes within the roof. It was lovely to see them collaborating together and just having some fun.
