Year 6


Back at school still feeling a little tired, the year six children have had a chance to look at the photographs from their trip. Day two and our final night ended with a scrapheap challenge which included a very entertaining catwalk to model our knight designs. After a hearty breakfast, the three groups jumped straight back into the challenge of the different activities.  Today, the children came face-to-face with the Leap of Faith, abseiling, archery and aeroball amongst others. An action-packed first afternoon had children involved in laser tag, tackling a course whilst blind-folded, building vehicles and (possibly the favourite although scary) 3G swing! Year 6 have had great fun whilst already pushing themselves out of their comfort zones to meet the challenges set. &nbs


Year 6 arrived safely at Dukeshouse Wood, in Hexham, for the start of their three day residential visit.  After a (thankfully) uneventful coach journey, the children went through an initial orientation, the challenge of making up beds and then some midday refuelling.  Let the activities commence.


The Year 5 and 6 children have competed in the annual Glynwood Games. The children were entered in running, throwing and jumping events and the games concluded with the relays. The Year 5 team eventually came 4th and the Year 6 team came 3rd. All of the children really tried in their events were the


Year 6 had a well-deserved afternoon in the sun after a long week of SATs. The children enjoyed playing games and eating cakes. The visit from the ice-cream man was an added bonus! Well done Year 6 – we are extremely proud of you all.


This half term in PE Year 6 have been working on their cricket skills. Batting, fielding and catching skills are improving and the children are thoroughly enjoying playing competitively!
