As part of our topic on Ancient Baghdad, Year 5 used ‘Inkscape’ to create Islamic style geometric patterns. Once designed, the pattern was adapted and carved into printing tiles and used to print onto fabric. We then learnt a few basic sewing stitches to hem and join the fabric, with bandanas as


A big well done to all of our KS2 boys and girls who have been taking part in their Sports Day this afternoon. Year five and six have had a fantastic afternoon at Gateshead Leisure Centre taking part in a Sportsability event. Here you can see the residents and children creating collages of birds, following the 1960’s theme, these will be hung in the community garden area to brighten things up for the upcoming Summer Fayre which will be held on the 21st of July. This event is open to the public if anybody would like to go


A massive well done to the year five and six children who came first place in their football tournament and won the Summer cup! The teams played a combined 11 games and played brilliantly in all of them, they even had some glorious weather to spur them on! Well done everyone!


Work continued at Angel Court this week. The collages were finished off, ready to be framed and mounted. The cushion covers that were printed last week were given a fire retardant coating and some new covers were made.


Year 5 have been exploring finding volume of solids using cubic units. They worked methodically to find different shapes with the same volume, which seemed endless, then using the formula L x W x H to find different cuboids with the same volume.
