Year 4


Last week Year 4 enjoyed a trip to a local Indian restaurant. They had a delicious meal, learnt about spices as well as made their own naan bread.  


A big well done to all of our KS2 boys and girls who have been taking part in their Sports Day this afternoon. The children took part in lots of different activities, including a penalty shootout, sack race, sprint, javelin and even some hurdles. The children all did brilliantly and were very sports


In Year 4, the children have enjoyed learning about the artist Georgia O’Keeffe. They have taken on her style by using watercolour and creating different tones with just water.  


The children in year 4 have been learning about co-ordinates and translation. They played a fun game where one child had to give instructions to another child to translate their partner across a grid to reach a certain point. They needed to do this correctly in under one minute. The children used th


The children in Year Four have explored colour mixing on different surfaces using watercolours. They enjoyed exploring the colours they could make and the effects they could create.  


Over the past few weeks, the children in year 4 have been creating pieces inspired by the artist, Michael Brennand-Wood.  They have learnt skills in dip dying, mono-printing and wool craft.


During this half term, the children in Year 4 have been learning balancing skills. They tried out a variety of positions and worked out the best ways to maintain good posture.
